PPLs are the very first stage of learning to ride for your child. They are available for children aged 3 and up, and last for 30 minutes or an hour. Your child will ride a quiet, friendly pony and will be led at all times by an experienced helper. The aim of these early rides is to improve balance and confidence and to have fun. The lessons include walking and trotting, as well as fun pony games such as “around the world”. More experienced children will progress to learning to turn and control their pony, and the rising trot. Although each rider is assisted by their own helper, it is always possible for family and friends to ride together.
